چکیده
In this study an approach is proposed to probabilistically evaluate wall thickness and the probability of pipe failure when subjected thinning based on results periodic non-destructive evaluations. Electromagnetic acoustic resonance (EMAR) has been adopted as a specific method thickness. A probabilistic model correlating true evaluated thicknesses was basis laboratory experiments measure 38 artificially corroded carbon steel plates. Bayesian estimate from multiple evaluations at certain time intervals. The applied analyses several virtual EMAR that gradually became thinner, whose demonstrate effective regardless variability corrosion rates.

monitoring of pipe-wall thickness and thinning rate by ultrasonic technique
an important issue in power generation and petrochemical industries is the monitoring of pipe wall thickness and corrosion/erosion rate. the pipes are usually subject to erosive and/or corrosive environments and any failure could be catastrophic. while periodic manual ultrasonic thickness measurement is the common practice in many industries, in certain cases, where higher accuracies are requir...

like any other learning activity, translation is a problem solving activity which involves executing parallel cognitive processes. the ability to think about these higher processes, plan, organize, monitor and evaluate the most influential executive cognitive processes is what flavell (1975) called “metacognition” which encompasses raising awareness of mental processes as well as using effectiv...
Monitoring Pipe-Wall Corrosion Rate by Ultrasonic Technique
thickness and corrosion/erosion rate. In this thesis, a combination of signal processing techniques are used to estimate the corrosion rate estimates based on MBE. Corrosion rate is estimated based on ultrasonic pipe wall thickness data is collected over a short period of time using MBE model. This technique is based on data collected from the speedometer applied for thinning and both indicate ...
متن کاملFailure pressure of straight pipe with wall-thinning under internal pressure
The failure pressure of pipe with wall-thinning was investigated by using three-dimensional elastic-plastic finite element analyses (FEA). With careful modeling of the pipe and flaw geometry in addition to a proper stress-strain relation of the material, FEA could estimate the precise burst pressure obtained by the tests. FEA was conducted by assuming three kinds of materials: line pipe steel, ...
